Glass Wall

Where one wonders how long the glass walls can last, particularly in Canadian climate. Not many houses with floor to ceiling glass. Perhaps easier to construct, but fifty years on…

Had saved this image, from some time ago, but didn’t know from where. Then did a search “floor to ceiling glass condo structural problems” and the article associated with the picture came up: “Throw Away Buildings: Toronto’s Glass Condos“, CBC News, November 14, 2011:

Many of the glass condominium towers filling up the Toronto skyline will fail 15 to 25 years after they’re built, perhaps even earlier, and will need retrofits costing millions of dollars, say some industry experts.
