Ashes

From Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis (2004), in relation to the drug run and runout:

Always, you wake up to an unpleasant memory and an unpleasant body and your spirit is reduced to a pile of dirty ashes residing somewhere inside of your ass.

Lions and tigers come running
Just to steal your love

One Response to Ashes

  1. As long as the ashes are metaphorical, you still have a chance, like a Phoenix rising from its ashes.

When you’re reduced to a genuine pile of ashes, with or without urn, you need to hope.

    For reincarnation, or judgement day.

If you’re in a position to hope.

It’s always better to hope for hope, and not surrender to the pummeling of despair.
