Uprisings against Saddam in Iraqi Kurdistan and Shia areas of the south are suppressed by the Iraqi government using artillery and helicopter bombers.

Saddam’s crimes 1982-1991

1991

Between 60,000 and 130,000 southern Shia and 30,000 to 60,000 Kurds are killed by Saddam’s forces after rebellions against him.
