Elvin Bishop on Mickey Thomas

Have written about Elvin Bishop and Mickey Thomas here and here. Elvin Bishop being interviewed before his appearance at the Ottawa Jazzfest by Steve Collins:

…Bishop’s 2014 album, Can’t Even Do Wrong Right…featured a guest appearance from another old band mate, Mickey Thomas. He sang Bishop’s 1976 hit “Fooled Around and Fell In love” (which got new life on the Guardians of The Galaxy soundtrack) before he went on to Jefferson Starship.

“It was great to get back together,” Bishop said. “He’s the sweetest guy in the world and he’s a physical phenomenon. He hasn’t lost a bit of his range and now, with all the seasoning, he kinda knows better what to do with that voice.”
