Have a friend who has little interest in things. Gifts of food, perhaps, but forget books or music in tactile form. Online books from the library. Spoken word or visual. No need for collections of anything.

Not that such needs are ever needed…

She was like this decades ago, as I remember. Had a sculpture on display in her apartment once, but it was suspected to have been lifted by a roommate. Not replaced.

Was in a similar zone for some eight months, 1972-73. In the collective house. Came there with little, and missed little. Instead of a wall of books, a small corner of few. Records in a small corner, rather than rows on shelves. Nice.

Somehow, for some reason, the sentiments didn’t stick.
