Wonder if person is out of element and not doing well, but has family waiting elsewhere, would a free trip to family be the better therapy? Thinking about so many people who come to larger cities from smaller towns and villages, and end up overwhelmed. Waydowntown. No money to get back. Family disconnected. No interest in telling family one’s whereabouts, to avoid making one’s failure all the more known.

The ticket back home is regarded as a form of support. So says the Red Deer Native Friendship Society, which also says that there should be much more, which it offers. Though with a welcoming family and free transport to same from another cauldron of circumstance…
