Definition, Constraint

Generally circulate “Statistical Failure” and related pieces to students, prior to handing back exams. Effort to demonstrate that failure is not unknown to instructors. One student commented in part, as follows:

It lets us know that we all deserve second chances,
and that failure does not define us.

It defines if one permits it to define: “I am a failure.”

It constrains, if one lets it constrain: “I will never pass.”

Or it can be part of a path to overall accomplishment: “I passed, after learning from a setback.”

One fails, but one is no failure.
