Black’s Law

Saw it on her bookshelf. We were both 17 or so. Black’s Law Dictionary. Asked her what it was. Said she had always loved the law. Read it regularly.

This at a time when there were no law classes in high school. Also no lawyers in her family. Personal tie.

Don’t remember if I asked her how she got it. Started to read it, and didn’t get it.

Also don’t know whether she became associated with law in any way. Searched the name she once had, and nothing comes up.

All I know is that she had an admirable focus and interest that most did not have, at that age and time.
