Find when visiting a hospital that there seems to be a lot of social talk among staff. Next vacation. New car. New house. Creates sense of great slack, due to the amount of time engaged in social conversation. Also undercuts the sense of professionalism associated with what they do.
I guess better to talk about boats than the private matters of patients, when slack times occur. Still would prefer to see them reading medical publications or researching medical-related issues, during paid slack times.
Or maybe just can’t buy the boat, so bothered.
