Why can’t people put aside the injustices they perceive from long ago? Perhaps it is because they are people, as Kurosawa once observed.

Today, I am teaching about authenticity and inauthenticity, in the context of Kurosawa’s film, Ikiru.

I can see how God must struggle to be heard over the clamour. Who has time to hear about love and forgiveness, when there is revenge to be had – even too late to matter.
