“Rock Bottom, by Jo Baker”

The original, featuring the late Jo Baker (1948-1996):

Here is a version with Stoneground, following her departure from Elvin Bishop:

Song co-written by Jo Baker and Elvin Bishop, first appearing on Bishop’s 1972 album, Rock My Soul.

First heard the song when performed by the Wells-Davidson Band in 1979, with nice sax overlay by Margo Davidson. Band co-founder and lead singer Robin Wells would introduce it as “Rock Bottom, by Jo Baker”, clearly identifying who defined the song. Though where the Wells-Davidson Band’s tremendous version of the song was apparently recorded by no one, in any form.
