The Wind Is Always Playing

A friend whom I have known most of my adult life recently wrote to me as follows, in terms of her family’s summer plans (e-mail correspondence reproduced with permission):

We plan to spend the rest of our summer in our rustic country cabin. A week ago, we got 10 large lambs. They will be our lawn mowers. We’ve got lots of potatoes to watch and some rows of carrots, beets and beans that can all fend for themselves quite well.

We’re going to have a wonderful summer. It’s so peaceful and lovely. A great place to balance and feel the universe. The stars engulf you at night, the sun drenches you by day and the wind is always playing.

So many images of latter day peace.
