And never lose your way

How do you lose yourself
To someone
And never lose your way

Tony Bennett, “How Do You Keep The Music Playing” (1986):

Started listening to Tony Bennett in the late 1960s or so. Always expressive. Remember how he would play the Imperial Room at the Royal York in Toronto. Saw Peter Allen there, but should also have seen Tony Bennett in that room. How Tony Bennett would thank his audience in a newspaper ad, the day after the engagement was over. Never knew anyone else to do this.

Song is from his album, The Art of Excellence. Cover of him standing with the Twin Towers in the background; emphasis of such different times.

He still includes the song in his repertoire. Here, in 2011, at the age of 85:

And tell me how
Year after year
You’re sure
Your heart will fall apart
