Eric Carmen: Take It Or Leave It

He was known for lots of ballads, such as “All By Myself” and “Boats Against The Current“. Often overlooked was his ability to craft a straightout rock song, as he had done with The Raspberries, via “Go All The Way“. Always liked the chunk of this one, “Take It Or Leave It”:

Recently found out, via his correspondence with Bob Lefsetz, that Eric Carmen is a very insightful music commentator–in this case, in relation to the Beach Boys. Wonder to what extent songwriting ability is associated with general writing ability.
